What to expect
Just below the walls lies the Bogside, the neighbourhood at the very centre of the Northern Ireland civil rights movement, and of one of the darkest days of the Troubles. This walk tells that story on the ground where it happened.
We move from Free Derry Corner through the twelve monumental murals of the People's Gallery to the Bloody Sunday memorial, where fourteen people lost their lives after the events of 1972. It's a serious walk, told with honesty and respect, and it's the story I feel most strongly that visitors should hear.

We meet at Free Derry Corner, the free-standing gable wall reading "You are now entering Free Derry." It sits at the entrance to the Bogside, a short walk below the city walls.
